COMING SOON!
In the year 2512, KrysaLynn is wakened from a 500-year involuntary stasis to discover she is not human. She belongs to a previously hidden species, Aceline. Born from humans and inextricably linked to their fate, the Aceline have been sterile and dependent on humans for millennia.
As their savior, KrysaLynn is expected to end their curse and bring the species back into balance by surviving four deadly challenges. KrysaLynn’s past experiences taught her to trust no one – including herself. If she is to succeed, KrysaLynn must ultimately learn to trust both her mate and herself.
History
The original concept behind KrysaLynn came from a weird question that popped in my mind in high school. “What if humans had a heat cycle like dogs and cats?” See I told you it was weird. Let’s start from the beginning though.
I was assigned to write a short story in my English class. I had no idea how long the story should be, so I counted out the number of pages in some of the short stories we were reading for the unit. (The Tell Tale Heart, The Lottery, etc.) They were around 20ish pages. Next, I had to figure out what to write. That was when the question entered my head and a new species of human was born, Aceline (ace-lynn). I kept writing and writing, and the deadline came closer and closer. I was nowhere near finished, but I had to turn something in. So I slapped an ending on there, printed my 20 pages (single spaced). When I got to class, I realized that I went a little overboard. Many of the short stories my classmates wrote were 1 page (front and back), handwritten. Oops.
It’s been a wild ride and the end product is nothing like that original 20 page short story, but that is the joy of writing.
